g is for giving

okay, boys and girls. i've another giveaway for yall. i think you're gonna like this one. at least, i hope so.

what's up for grabs this time?

choose ONE dvd from the list:

the blind side
the count of monte cristo
dedication
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
for love of the game
hitch
love actually
ocean's eleven (man, i miss bernie mac.)
playing by heart
star trek

tell me which dvd you'd like to receive, what your favorite film is (or one of'm) AND what film, if any, you have forked over the funds to see but left the theater before its conclusion because it sucked SO badly.

my favorite is dedication. i've walked out of the theater thrice: mad love, meet the fockers and minority report. in case you were curious ...

one lucky winner will also receive a twenty-five dollar gift card to the theater of his or her choice.

one luckier winner will receive the dvd, the theater gift card AND another twenty-five dollar gift card to the restaurant of his or her choice.

disclaimer: each title will only be given away once. in the event one title is requested by multiple contestants AND in the case of the gift cards, i will, unfairly, play favorites, so the better blogger will win. i know. it's tacky and uncool. c'est la vie.

you have until 11:59 p.m. sunday, june fifth.

a whole week! how d'ya like them apples?

okee. time's up. winners are here.

check out this post at mommynanibooboo. it's some funny stuff.

and this. back in january, newsweek.com published a list of the ten united states cities in the greatest decline. the tenth one was grand rapids, michigan. its residents and businesses didn't like that so much. so they got together and made this video. it's pretty nifty.

Night and Day was pretty terrible...I walked out. I also felt that at the end of Mission Impossible 1 I wanted my 2 hours back...

or gouge out my eyes with a spork.

Favorite movie?

Man, where do I begin? Probably with these few little titles:

Galaxy Quest
Elizabethtown
Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade
Hot Fuzz
The Blind Side
Searching for Bobby Fischer
Barney's Great Adventure

Okay, I made one of those up.

I'll bet you can guess which one I'd like to get as the freebie if nobody else wants it...well, if the Barney one isn't available, that is.

By the way, I would love to use that video as a Media of the Week soon...if it were okay with you.

That. was. amazing.

I'd love the Blind Side. My favorite film to date is Twilight.
I've never had to leave because because of any films I don't like. We don't make it to the theater very often and when we do it's always something we have been looking forward to seeing and have seen the previews on, etc.

Thanks for dropping me a line about the giveaway. I luv movies!!

So, I actually took the time to look up the movies on your list I had never seen or heard of to determine which I would like to have.......

I would love to see "Dedication" since I love to draw and paint and write and the theme feels like something I would adore.

As far as my favorite film goes, "The Wizard of Oz" is my all time childhood fave. "Restoration" is wonderful. "The Machinist" was exceptional. "Chicago" and "Mama Mia" my favorite sing-a-longs. "My Best Friends Girl" is the funniest thing I have ever seen. "When a Stranger Calls" (the original) will scare the bageesus our of you!! And I could keep going on and on and on...

But, I'll stop there :) Love those flicks!

eternal sunshine or love actually. somehow, I don't own either of them. one of my faves is when harry met sally ... also love trading places :) and I have so many painful movies, I can't see straight!

Good luck to the winner!

Wow, what kind of incredible giveaway is this anyway!?! I would love Blind Side or Dedication.

My favorite movie (I'm ashamed to say) is 'My Cousin Vinnie'. Whenever I am on total overwhelm I watch it...and the silliness of it makes me laugh!

I'm off to read blog posts!

Do you want me to do a link on a blog post about this giveaway, Jenn?

Hi,
Since you insisted, I like "For love of the game", the Blind Side is awesome too!

My favorite movies are Jane Eyre, Prejudice, and anything in older period..I don't know, I'm stuck between time warp!!!

I came over from TeachinFourth and I'm glad I did. Some of my favorite movies are:
Heart and Soul, What About Bob, and a bunch of others that I can't think of right now because it's my nap time.
One movie I should have walked out on was one with Leslie Nielsen. I think it was Spy Hard. What a stupid movie! I was stupid to go see it and became even more stupid after watching it.

Sorry, I got a little carried away. What was the question again? Oh yeah, I think I'd like the movie "For Love of the Game"

Love Actually! I love that movie! I love The Eternal Sunshine as well, but Love Actually has a great soundtrack.

I've missed reading your blog...your randomness is such a breath of fresh air.

I really don't go to the movies much. I usually redbox it.

If I think I won't like a movie, I usually don't. That now means I don't bother to watch anything I know I won't love.

Now, one movie that did walk out of the theater was Epic Movie. Not one for slapstick comedy; I don't know what compelled me to go see it that day.

Meet the Fockers? I'd love to know why you hated it! The first time I saw the Meet the Parents movie I got such serious anxiety pains you would have thought I was the guy trying to fit in the suburban family from hell. It definitely got me thinking about archetypical symbols like the Wandering Jew...and bad screenwriting...but I still watched it.

I LOVE MOVIES! Some of my favorites are The Notebook, The Titanic, Twilight, Vacation, Step Brothers....and the list goes on(this is only a tip of the iceberg!) I don't think I've actually walked OUT of a movie, even tho I've seen some awful ones (none come to mind!)
I'd love to have 'The Count of Monte Cristo' (love that story), but have never seen 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind' and this movie looks like a good one, too!

I've never seen "dedication" so that would be a good one to receive!

My favorite movie is "Chocolat". The only movie I've ever walked out on was "Mad Max" years ago. It was too overwhelming, too violent...

Just clicking over from SITS. AWESOME giveaway!!!

I would LOVE to receive: Start Trek!

I have always wanted to see it!

One of my favorite movies of all time is shawshank redemption. LOVE IT!

I recently walked out of The Hangover II.

Which was sad I loved the first one (even though it was crude). It was silly but the second one was TERRIBLE.

Awesome giveaway! I love it!

I think I'd pick "Eternal Sunshine" if I won.

My favorite movie is and always will be "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and I don't care what anybody says about it! Any movie with a cute Asian boy, people getting their hearts ripped out of their bodies, a disgusting feast of snakes and beetles, and child slavery is my kinda movie. :)

I have never actually walked out of a movie. You never know if it will redeem itself!

Love Actually is one of our favorite movies. I gave it to Rod last year for Christmas. I guess my all time favorite movie is To Kill A Mockingbird. I would love to have Dedication, though.

What a great giveaway! I have too many "favorites" to choose a specific one, but it's easy for me to say, I love comedies (good, clean ones :o), chick flicks (but with no sad parts...like I think Nicholas Sparks is a great author, but I do not want to see any of the movies made from his books, cuz there always such a sad element!), love action and adventure (I am the perfect movie maker's dream...I get so into a movie that I unintentionally jump or react even if I had seen a surprising part before!) ..oh but no horror flicks, and love computer generated animation! ...oh also musicals :o) On your list, I love the Blind Side, Count of Monte Cristo, and HItch! I would pick Hitch, cuz we dont have that one. And I will have to check out the other movies on your list...have not seen those.

Blessings & Aloha!
(...catching up on my blog reading and "return thankyou " visits...Thank you sooo much for stopping by!...I didnt even manage to get my "once a week" post up last week!

I would love count of monte cristo. I've never heard the story. My favorite movies are the godfather, secondhand lions, the departed and others I can't think of now. I walked out of Friday night lights. I hate football.
