my mother: for keeping such a strong house. for standing up for me when i couldn't stand up for myself. for pushing me when i wouldn't budge.
my father: for hauling my butt to campus over the weekends and unlocking the school doors so that i could get my books out of my tote tray or locker and forcing me to do my homework. for travels. for patience.
my older brother: for laughter. for stories. for teaching me the amusement of arrogance.
my younger brother: for friendship. for thoughtfulness. for the wonder twins.
carol vonner, third grade: for whipping my ass with that paddle. for loving me. for kindness.
pauline elliot, sixth grade: for sneaking past all the bullshit i presented. for faith. for teaching me to love language.
william weitzel, victorian literature professor: for teaching me to love literature. for reminding me of what makes me good. for setting an example.
minn: for being such a badass neighbor. for wit. for gardening expertise.
tiffany: for strength. for genuineness. for compassion.
tracey: for understanding. for wisdom. for clarity.
renee: for being such an ass. for being the last straw. for encouraging me to get the hell out of dodge.
graham: for giving me a job.
i know, jen, i was supposed to do one. but i didn't feel that was fair. i've so many people for whom i'm thankful. i can't pick just one.
for whom are you thankful?
