senate candidate mark kirk is acknowledging that he falsely claimed to have received the united states navy's intelligence officer of the year award after his opponent's campaign started challenging kirk's resume.kirk, a five-term republican representative, said his official biography misidentified the award.

okee. i don't understand how this guy managed to be elected to the house five times. i don't understand why his party would let him run for the senate. i don't understand why he would think the public would want a guy like him representing us. i won't understand if he succeeds in obtaining a senate seat.
but what boggles my mind the most is how a man can't say outright that he lied. last week, some politician -- and no, i can't remember his name, but i remember his face enough to say that he'd had way too much sun and too much partying in his younger years and all that had taken a toll -- said he mispoke. this week, it's you and your misidentified? yall obviously think we're stupid. and i guess, since some group of people did elect you to the house five times and your party is allowing you to run for that senate seat, we -- and i don't include myself here -- must be.
and just so i'm clear...your unit won that award, right? not you. did you yourself receive any individual medals while serving our country?
the world needs fewer people like you and your misspeaking friend, sir. stop trying to be the model.

agreed. Politicians are getting too big for their britches.
happy sits saturday sharefest! politicians are annoying for the simple reason that most of them are exactly that: politicians. all they care about is the office, the title, the election--the issues always seem to fall by the wayside. *sigh* some day, elected officials will be honest. and i'll be skinny and rich. some day.
